Food Absorb, Food Digested

Problem--> What brand of dry cat food will be will have the most food digestion and absorption?

Hypothesis--> The most expensive brand of dry cat food used will have the most food digestion and absorption.

Procedure-->
  1. Collect materials.
  2. Label the large beaker stomach and the other four beakers the brands of cat food you are using.
  3. Pour the 1200ml of hydrochloric acid into the large beaker.
  4. Add tap water until it is the right pH (a pH of 2), using the pH paper to make sure.
  5. Pour the mixture of hydrochloric acid and water into the other four beakers (300ml in each one.)
  6. Put about 150 grams of cat food into each of the beakers. (one in each beaker).
  7. put the beakers aside for the next 12hours.
  8. After 12 hours pour the mixture of hydrochloric acid and the water out using the strainer.
  9. Pour 300 ml of meat tenderizer into each beaker.
  10. Put the beakers aside for the next 12 hours.
  11. After 12 hours strain the meat tenderizer out of the beakers.
  12. allow the cat food to dry for a day.
  13. using whatever food is left as the weight of the "feces", use this formula, % food digested = (Start weight - final weight) / start weight x 100%.
  14. Be sure to record any data.
